Zu Tohtayeva

Founder, Director, COLP, COFA

As a solicitor with over 12 years of legal experience, Ms. Tohtayeva specializes in business and finance law, with a strong emphasis on corporate, tax restructuring, banking law and general commercial litigation. Throughout her career, Ms. Tohtayeva has been advising and acting on the matters of ultra-high net worth individuals, trust/funds and various IT companies and their structures (including, numerous cross-border restructurings/private complex tax advice and optimization). Ms Tohtayeva also gained in-depth knowledge on UK, EU and US compliance regulations which is an intrinsic element of modern business.

Olafadeke Akeju

Legal Counsel (Africa) & Partner

As a legal practitioner with over 17 years legal experience, Ms Akeju specialises in entertainment and gaming law as well ascorporate and commercial law with focus on governance, regulatory relations, licencing, compliance and company secretarial services. As a gaming specialist lawyer, Ms Akeju has represented clients in cross border transactions and investments in West Africa, while contributing to policy development, regulatory framework and implementation of gaming legislation and guidelines in Africa. At SteelRose, Ms Akeju extends the firm’s reach to Africa, leading clients and advising on corporate and commercial matters in Africa.

Senior Lawyer (Ukraine)

An experienced lawyer with more than 17 years of practice, Svitlana specialises in international corporate structuring and tax planning. Her background includes acquisitions of shares and real estate in the European Union and Ukraine, setting up businesses from scratch, restructuring a holding group, attracting investments and advising on commercial and corporate law matters.

Lina Sitta

Solicitor + Business Operations

As a corporate Trainee Solicitor Lina works closely on corporate/commercial deals, reviewing deal structures and preparing the relevant transactional documents. Having joined SteelRose at its early stages, Lina took advantage of her entrepreneurial nature and innovative mindset to help build and implement SteelRose’s operational functions and continuously works to develop the business and its standards.

Sonal Mulay

Compliance Officer

With over 15 years of experience as a compliance officer across reputed firms in the financial services sector, Sonal joined SteelRose in August 2021 as its Legal and Compliance Officer. Sonal is in charge of ensuring overall compliance health for the firm which covers identification and implementation of applicable guidelines/regulations, roll out of compliance policies/procedures, guiding clients on AML norms, license renewals, coordination, and interaction with regulatory bodies, continuous training, and development for staff.

She specializes in managing company secretarial, compliance and risk functions and has significant exposure in entity structuring, advisory matters pertaining to foreign portfolio investors registration and KYC matters

Zarif Tohtayev

CFO

ACCA part qualified accountant with 8 years of finance and accounting experience. Joined SteelRose in June 2021. Previously had experience working in a London-based law firm and has a deep understanding of how law firm accounts operate. Currently looking after several company accounts across various industries. His primary focus is managing accounts for limited companies in the UK, provision of bookkeeping support and working with chartered accounting firms with the submission of VAT and tax returns.
